Bandung, June 6, 2024 – Bandung Model United Nations (Bandung MUN) 2024 was successfully held at Widyatama University. The three-day event, from June 5 to 7, welcomed delegates from various universities in Indonesia and abroad. Bandung MUN 2024 was a prestigious event for students to deepen their knowledge of diplomacy, international relations, and debating skills.
In his opening speech, Muhammad Fauzi, S.T., M.Log., Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Widyatama University, expressed his pride that Widyatama University was able to host this prestigious event. “We are honored to host Bandung MUN 2024. This event not only provides valuable experience for the participants, but also strengthens Widyatama University’s role in facilitating international academic activities,” said Fauzi.
Bandung MUN 2024 carries the theme “Strengthening Global Cooperation in the Face of Contemporary Challenges.” In the series of events, participants are invited to discuss various global issues, ranging from climate change, humanitarian crises, to global economic challenges. Each delegation acts as a representative of a UN member state, debating and formulating resolutions in various committees that resemble the structure and functions of the actual UN.
The event is also enlivened by various supporting activities, such as cultural exhibitions, art performances, and workshops on negotiation and public speaking skills. Participants also have the opportunity to network with students from various countries, broadening their knowledge of different cultures and global perspectives.
With the successful implementation of Bandung MUN 2024, Widyatama University has further strengthened its position as one of the leading higher education institutions that actively contributes to advancing education and international engagement. It is hoped that this event will continue to be held annually, providing a platform for the younger generation to learn and contribute to efforts to create a better world.
