BANDUNG – Universitas Widyatama once again demonstrated its commitment to talent development by holding the “2025 Arts Appreciation and Performance” on Saturday, July 26th, 2025. Held at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building (GSG), this event was the top of awards for 163 students, mentors, and student organization (ormawa) coaches who had made outstanding achievements throughout the 2024/2025 academic year. With a total appreciation fund more than 200 million rupiah, this activity purpose is to spark competitive spirit and serve as a true expression of appreciation for high-achieving students within the campus community.
The event, attended by the Rector and university and faculty leaders, is a manifestation of the institution’s commitment to fully supporting the achievements of its students. In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Widyatama, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., stated that student achievements are one of the main pillars for building and creating a university that excels at the national and international levels.
Achievements of Students as the Foundation of Excellent Campus
Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that the achievements of the students are not only a source of individual pride, but also a real contribution to the institution. According to him, the experiences and sacrifices made to achieve these accomplishments will shape the students’ characters, making them resilient individuals who are ready to face future challenges.
“An achievement is asset for future success in life. Because achieving something is not as easy as one might imagine, it requires sacrifice of oneself, soul, energy, and mind,” said Prof. Dadang. He added that all of these achievements will be recorded in the Diploma Supplement Letter (SKPI), which will serve as a valuable portfolio for graduates when they enter the workforce.
On the same occasion, Head of Student Affairs Bureau, I Gede Nyoman Wisnu Satyadharma, S.T., M.Sn., explained that this award was given based on the Rector’s Decree. A total of 618 achievements were made by 163 students from various fields, ranging from provincial, national, to international levels. Among the recipients of the appreciation, there were also four students who received special scholarships as campus influencers.
Expressions of Pride and Motivation from the Champions
Enthusiasm and gratitude radiated from the award-winning students. Arthur Andersonhanes, a D3 Management student who won provincial and national Muay Thai championships, felt very proud. “I feel very happy, especially since I am still a freshman. This is a source of pride for me and my parents. I plan to save this prize money and use it for the registration fees for the next competition,” he said.

The same sense of pride was also expressed by Devi Mulyani from the English Department. According to her, recognizing outstanding students like this makes them more enthusiastic to continue studying and achieve their goals. “I am certainly happy and grateful that the university wants to recognize its students. I plan to use it again to participate in the Model United Nations (MUN) competition in the future,” said Devi.
The stories of these champions show that campus support not only motivates them, but also directly helps them maintain their achievements in the future. Whether it is for savings, business capital, or future competition fees, this appreciation fuels their enthusiasm.
