Following the success of WIFi in 2011, the Information Technology Study Program and the Widyatama University Information Technology Student Association are once again presenting WIFi 2012, which will be held on April 26-28, 2012. This time, WIFi 2012 carries the theme “Techno Friendly”. The development of information technology in various fields of life today is unpredictable. Technology has become an integral part of every activity carried out by society. Similarly, in the world of education today, from kindergarten to high school/vocational school/madrasah, information technology has been implemented in every curriculum.
Widyatama University, as a higher education institution, has the noble goal of always playing an active role in developing human resources with noble character and expertise in the fields of accounting, management, engineering, language, and arts. One form of this human resource development effort is to carry out activities aimed at developing the potential of talented and competent high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students in the field of information technology.
This is stated in the work program of the Informatics Engineering Study Program. The development of the potential of high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students can be done through teaching and training in workshops, as well as competitions held to stimulate competitiveness among students who want to pursue a career in information technology. Not only that, through competitions, the bonds of friendship between schools and other educational institutions can be strengthened. Thus, the main objective of this activity is to contribute directly or indirectly to the community, especially to high school/vocational school/Islamic high school/equivalent students.
For the second time and hoping to repeat the success of the previous year, the Information Technology Study Program at Widyatama University, supported by the Widyatama University Information Technology Student Association, held the “Widyatama Informatics Festival 2012” (WIFi) with the theme “It’s time to be TECHNOFRIENDLY”. Previously, this event received high enthusiasm from students, teachers, lecturers, and students both inside and outside the university.
