As many as 1700 Japanese language learners across West Java and Lampung will join Japanese language test, Nihongo Noryo Ke Shike on Sunday, 5 December 2010 at Widyatama University Bandung. The test that contain by writing test, listening and grammar in Japanese is the five time rows held in Widyatama University Bandung.
The event, which was held in collaboration with the Japan Foundation and Padjadjaran University, was attended by students, teachers and lecturers who wanted to measure their ability to speak Japanese in writing.
Currently, Japan as a developed country in Asia has a lot of cooperation in the field of education through the Japan Foundation. Widyatama University’s Japanese Language Study Program (Prodi) has been selected to receive educational assistance from the Japan Foundation, Japan for the period 2009/2010 in the form of providing education kit prizes at Bunkasai activities or Japanese culture parties, especially for speech contests that have been held some time ago on Widyatama campus.
This assistance has made Widyatama University a registered member of The JF Nihongo network, better known as the “Sakura Network,” a Japanese educational institution under The Japan Foundation that is engaged in the international development of the Japanese language.
According to Uning Kuraesin, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Languages at Widyatama University, the Widyatama Japanese Language Study Program is currently collaborating with The Japan Foundation in providing teaching materials, native speakers or guest lecturers, textbooks, and sending lecturers and teachers to Japan to improve their teaching skills. This will help improve the quality of Japanese language teaching for students, said Uning.
