Widyatama University will sign an MOU with PT. Phintraco Securities (01/08) in the rector’s meeting room. Widyatama University continues to grow by collaborating with many companies.
Due to concerns about the lack of public interest and attention to the stock exchange, it is necessary to establish cooperation with higher education institutions as a forum for developing intellectuals. For this reason, a partnership between Widyatama University (UTama) and Phintraco Securities was formed on Thursday (1/8) to produce professionals with ethics in accordance with stock market practices. Phintraco Securities will provide a simulator so that UTama students can trade without using real money. In the world of stocks, it is not only theory but also proper decision making and mental preparedness for market dynamics that are needed to minimize risk. “Students are expected to manage risk, not avoid risk,” explained Mr. Jeffey Hendrik, President Director of Phintraco Securities.
It is hoped that through this collaboration, within 1-2 years UTama students will have the skills to become investors (not speculators), with ethical conduct, so that in the future the Indonesian capital market can become stronger. “The obstacle that has been faced by the capital market is human resources that meet the standards,” said Mr. Gilman Pradana Nugraha, Head of the Capital Market Information Center, Bandung.
This collaboration is outlined in an MoU, with Widyatama University represented by Prof. Dr. Davidescu Cristiana Victoria Martha, M.A., as Vice Rector for Operations, and Mr. Jeffrey Hendrik as President Director of Pintraco Securities. Following the signing of the MoU between Widyatama University and PT. Phintraco Securities, an MoU will be signed with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) regarding the opening of the IDX Investment Gallery at Widyatama University, scheduled for September 2014.
