SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi dominated the 2017 Widyatama Informatics Festival

Following the success of the Widyatama Informatics Festival (WIFi) in 2016, the Informatics Engineering Study Program and the Widyatama University Informatics Engineering Student Association once again presented WIFi 2017, which was held on March 16-18, 2017. The event took place in the Theater Room and Auditorium Building (GSG) at Widyatama.

WIFi is an annual event organized by the Computer Science Program at Widyatama University, first held in 2010. This year, WIFi 2017 carries the theme “Show your Passion in The Future of Technology”, with the hope that the Program can introduce how knowledge about technology is developing in the current era of Informatics, especially to introduce the Informatics Engineering Program at Widyatama University.

The event will take place over three days, with the first and second days consisting of competitions for high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students, university students, and the general public. The competitions will be held on March 16 and 17, 2017. The types of competitions that will be held are as follows:

  1. Programming: A competition to test the programming skills of high school/vocational school students. The programming competition itself uses C/Java as the programming language for the competition.
  2. Web Design: A competition to showcase the creativity of high school/vocational school students and the general public in designing a website interface.
  3. Networking: A competition for high school/vocational school students to solve case studies on computer network issues.

On the third day, the winners were announced and a seminar was held for high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students, university students, and the general public. The seminar was opened by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Widyatama University, Dr. Savitri Galih, S.Si., M.T., followed by a speech from the Head of the Information Technology Study Program at Widyatama University, Sriyani Violina S.T., M.T. The speakers were Fajar Eri Dianto (Chairperson of TIK Volunteers), Andri Yadi (CEO-Co Founder of PT. Dycode Cominfotech Development) and Wiradeva Arif Kristawaman (CPO-Co Founder of Agate Studio). In the 2017 WIFi event, out of the 3 competitions participated in by 10 schools, the winners were as follows:
