The Japanese and Literature Study Program at Padjajaran University, in collaboration with The Japan Foundation, held the 43rd Japanese Language and Culture Week on May 5th-6th, 2017, at the Japanese Study Center (PSBJ) Hall, Faculty of Humanities, Padjajaran University, Jatinangor Campus. First held in 1974, this event encourages enthusiasm for mastering the Japanese lthrough culture.
This year, the organizers held several competitions, including Kana, Kanji, Chokai, Sakubun, Speech Contest, Karaoke, and Quiz, which were attended by at least 240 participants from several universities, including Unpad, UPI, STBA Yapari ABA, Widyatama University, UNIKOM, Maranatha University, UNAS Pasim, and STIBA INVADA.
Various language competitions and contests were held with the aim of increasing students’ enthusiasm to actively participate in mastering the Japanese language and becoming more familiar with Japanese culture. From the 8 competitions, Uniiversitas Widyatama sent at least 29 (twenty-nine) students to participate in this annual event. One Widyatama student, Rizki Prabowo, won third place in the “Sakubun” competition.
The academic community of the Widyatama Foundation and University congratulates the students who achieved the best results and hopes that they will perform even better in future competitions. Viva Widyatama.
