Palembang, – The Head of the Graphic Design Program at Widyatama University (UTama) and one of Indonesia’s skateboarders, Rudy Farid, has been appointed as one of the judges at the 2018 Asian Games. Rudy was selected as a Park Skate Judge or judge for the Park Skate category at the prestigious international sports event, which took place from August 28 to August 29, 2018.
Alongside five other skateboarding practitioners from various Asian countries, he served as a judge for the skateboarding event held at the Jakabaring venue, Sport City, Palembang. Other judges from various Asian countries included Park Sung Ho from Korea, Takuya Okuno from Japan, Rahman Farris from Singapore, Warren RM Stuart from Hong Kong, and Didit Aditya from Indonesia.

This ITB FSRD graduate is not new to judging at the highest level of skateboarding competitions. He previously served as a judge for the Kalijodo Clash X Games National Championship in February 2017.
Being entrusted as a judge for the 2018 Asian Games is not only a source of pride for Rudy, but also for the academic community of Widyatama University. He mentioned that he has been actively involved in skateboarding since the late 1980s, as part of the Street Spydrs community in Bandung. (Ed)
