On Saturday (1/12), the Regent of Garut, H. Rudy Gunawan, SH, MH, MP, gave a public lecture at Universitas Widyatama in the Seminar Room on the 4th floor of Building A, which was attended by hundreds of students. Also present at the public lecture were Widyatama Graduate School Deputy Director Bachtiar Asikin, S.E., M.M., Ak and Widyatama Master of Accounting and Accounting Profession Program Chair Prof. Karhi N. Sardjudin, Ak., M.M., CA.
Raising the theme “Village Fund Management in Supporting Development in Garut Regency,” the Regent of Garut said that from 2010 to 2017, the Human Development Index has continued to increase. He said that in 2017, it was the second fastest HDI growth in West Java.

Rudy added that this is in line with the President’s directive and the Joint Decree on the Harmonization and Strengthening of Policies to Accelerate the Implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. Currently, the development of Garut Regency is in line with the President’s directive, which is to focus on labor-intensive work by absorbing as much labor as possible to reduce unemployment in villages and implementing the Village Fund DIPA (Budget Implementation List) so that activities are not contracted out to third parties and remain focused on labor-intensive work.
The village funds from Garut Regency are prioritized to improve the quality of life, including several aspects such as improving public services in villages, alleviating poverty, advancing the village economy, overcoming development gaps between villages, and strengthening the village community as the subject of development, said Rudy at the end of the public lecture.

The public lecture concluded with the presentation of a plaque from the university and a group photo. (Ed)
