50 Clients of BNNP West Java Participate in Entrepreneurship Training from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Widyatama University

A number of lecturers from the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Widyatama University, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, once again held an Entrepreneurship Training event in connection with implementing the Community Service Program (PkM).

The training activity, which was conducted online, was attended by clients under the supervision and guidance of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) with the aim of motivating them to become entrepreneurs.

For the lecturers of FEB Widyatama University, this activity was a form of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) as well as an entrepreneurship training activity carried out jointly by two institutions, Widyatama University and BNNP West Java.

The training began at 9:00 a.m. and was opened by the Head of the Widyatama University PkM Cluster, Yelli Eka Sumadhinata SE., MM, who also serves as the Head of the Widyatama University Career Center.

On that occasion, Anas Saepudin, representing the West Java BNNP, and the rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, also gave speeches. The training participants consisted of 50 clients of the West Java Provincial Narcotics Agency who already have businesses or are interested in starting a business.
The training activities carried out by PkM FEB UTama were also useful for developing careers and reintegrating BNNP West Java clients into society because their roles are still needed.

The entrepreneurship training material covered the importance of developing a positive mindset to start a business, presented by Pipin Sukandi, S.E., MM, a motivational speaker, hypnotherapist, and lecturer in Management at FEB, and moderated by Irma Nilasari, Ph.D, a lecturer at FEB UTama.

Pipin Sukandi, through his presentation of the training material, said, “Start changing negative stigmas by thinking about the positive things we want, including the courage to think successfully about the business we are going to build.”

The final result of this activity is expected to be that the participants are able to implement the material and tips on becoming entrepreneurs and can strengthen the nation’s economy.

Additionally, the outcomes of the FEB UTama PkM training program are also expected to elevate the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector as a new economic driver in Indonesia.
It has been proven that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the MSME sector has been more resilient.
