Prof. Dadang added that there are three levels of accreditation for higher education institutions in Indonesia, namely “Good,” “Very Good,” and “Excellent.” There are many criteria that a university must meet to be rated “Excellent,” one of which is establishing international cooperation.
“Therefore, we welcome UiTM’s cooperation. In our opinion, this is important because the impact is extraordinary,” said the UTama Rector.
Prof. Dadang explained that universities that have implemented “Kampus Merdeka” understand very well that the knowledge they master is not only local in nature, but must also encompass regional, international, and global aspects. Therefore, every university needs to engage in international cooperation to obtain, master, and develop knowledge that is global in nature.

“Hopefully, the implementation of this cooperation will produce results in the fields of education, research, and community service, which are the most important areas. The expected results in the field of education are student and lecturer exchanges,” said Prof. Dadang.
Furthermore, Prof. Dadang introduced the concept of “Kampus Merdeka” (Independent Campus) and the mechanisms used to implement the program initiated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbudristek RI), Nadiem Makarim, in the field of research by conducting field research.
“The goal is to create products that are applicable and may lead to new scientific discoveries. Finally, it is a collaboration in community service. In the context of ‘Kampus Merdeka’ (Independent Campus), a university should not fly high but rather put down roots and be beneficial to the community,” concluded Prof. Dadang.
