Lecturers from the Information Technology Study Program at Widyatama University (UTama) held a Community Service (PkM) activity for 96 teachers from SDN 015 Kresna Elementary School in Bandung.

The activity was held through a webinar on building awareness of learning and digital technology, including digital literacy for education and today’s society. In addition, it provided tips on overcoming challenges and threats in the digital era.

It was held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The webinar featured lecturers including Dr. Feri Sulianta, S.T., M.T., Esa Fauzi, S.T., M.T., Sy. Yuliani, S.Kom., M.T., and Dr. Yenie Syukriyah, S.Si., M.Si.

Meanwhile, the material was presented by Fajri Alfalah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Learning Strategist at Sekolah.mu, and Esa Fauzi, S.T., M.T., Lecturer at the UTama Informatics Study Program. The theme was “IT Awareness-Building Technological Awareness in the Information Age in Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic”.

Feri, Chair of the PkM Cluster, explained that the activity also raised important sub-topics in today’s digital era. Especially in the field of education, namely in the digital era, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Feri said that this needs to be addressed carefully by equipping educators, including students, with targeted educational resources, namely support for information technology devices and infrastructure.

“The event was attended by teachers from SDN 015 Kresna and lecturers, as well as students, practitioners, and the general public. They welcomed and were enthusiastic about the webinar. This was evident from the feedback from participants who found it very helpful in adapting effective learning during COVID-19 with information technology,” said Feri recently.

Feri added that the webinar also served as a platform for sharing knowledge and skills related to leveraging information technology in education and other activities, especially during the current pandemic.

He also revealed that the activity was made possible thanks to the excellent cooperation between the UTama Information Technology Study Program and the Principal of SDN 105 Kresna, Yayat Hidayat, S.Pd., M.M.Pd., as well as Dr. Nuni Ruqiyyatus Sholihah, M. Pd., representative of the teachers at SDN 015 Kresna. Additionally, the activity was supported by funding from the LP2M UTama.

In this activity, the Computer Science Program also involved collaboration between faculty members and their students.
