Bandung (September 13, 2014), Widyatama University won third place in the National Student League (LIMA) held at the Indonesia University of Education. Founded on May 15, 2012, the Student League (LIMA) is a private organization that aims to create a platform for Indonesian students to work in the field of sports. Through its various activities, LIMA hopes to nurture new talents among the nation’s youth who are athletic, educated, and socially conscious.

By winning 1 Gold Medal for the 50 m backstroke, 1 Gold Medal for the 100 m backstroke, 1 Silver Medal for the 200 m medley, and 1 Silver Medal for the 100 m butterfly. Muhammad Hamgari and Dhafin Faza Ghani represented Widyatama University at this national event. LIMA has five conferences, more commonly referred to as regions. Competitions are held in each region first, and the best athletes are sent to the National Student League championship, which is held in a different location each year. Currently, LIMA handles five sports, namely basketball, futsal, badminton, swimming, and golf.

The organization, led by CEO Ryan Gozali, hopes to become a platform that can bridge the abilities of young athletes in sports without having to sacrifice their formal education. LIMA continues to emphasize education as a safety net for athletes in case they do not become professional athletes.
With achievements in sports, particularly swimming, we hope that Widyatama University can compete with other universities in terms of sports as well as academics.
