Widyatama University Executive Meeting 2022 Discusses Strategy to Maintain Excellent Accreditation

SABAKOTA.ID – The Excellent accreditation status currently held by Widyatama University has a significant impact and risk on the credibility of a private university.

In addition to having to prove its excellence in the success of the educational process, which is its main function, this Excellent accreditation status also has an impact on Widyatama’s position in the public eye as a high-class university that can be used as a reference in the management and teaching and learning processes.

According to the Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, Roeshartono, the tangible impact of this Excellent accreditation is now evident in the requests from a number of schools in the city of Bandung that want Widyatama University to become their mentor.

In his opening remarks at the Widyatama University Executive Meeting at the Horison Hotel in Pangandaran, West Java, on Tuesday morning, which was led by Rector Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, the Chairman of the Foundation reiterated the purpose and objectives of this event, one of which was to obtain and discuss input from all elements of the university leadership in order to maintain the Excellent accreditation status.

Therefore, the Widyatama Foundation continues to fully support every step and program of the rectorate that aims to improve the achievements that have been made, in accordance with the Excellent accreditation status. One of the efforts to create the intended steps and strategies will be discussed in this Executive Meeting.

The Chair of the Widyatama Foundation said that the participants of the Executive Meeting had sufficient time to discuss various ideas or concepts for improving the quality of Widyatama University through this Executive Meeting. “Focus, freshness, and freedom are the objectives of this activity. Please share your thoughts so that the meeting can produce higher quality decisions in accordance with its objectives and purposes.”

Roeshartono, who is also the grandson of the late founder of the Widyatama Foundation, Prof. Dr. Koesbandiah, also said that in order to continue improving the quality of human resources, starting this Friday, character building training will be held for all leaders.

“The participants of this character building activity are officials, and it is a refresher. It is a reminder of the values that we may have forgotten due to our daily work and activities,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation, Mrs. Sri Juniati, expressed her hope in her speech that the meeting would produce decisions in line with the objectives. “When we leave here (the meeting room), there must be a reference for the program we want. Discuss it, bring out all the ideas you have. This activity is also a refresher on forgotten values, and it is hoped that everyone will participate,” she added.

Meanwhile, Widyatama University Rector Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda said in his speech before starting the Executive Meeting: “In terms of university management, Widyatama University is positioned as a classy, excellent university that can foster other private universities in relation to the progress it has achieved.”

This Widyatama University Executive Meeting was attended by around 82 participants, consisting of the Rector and Vice Rectors, all Faculty Deans and their staff, as well as the heads of departments and work units under the rectorate structure. The meeting took place from Sunday (31/10) to Wednesday (02/11).
