KBRN, East Belitung: Widyatama University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the East Belitung Regency Government on Tuesday (September 17, 2024).
The MoU was signed by Widyatama University Rector Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda and East Belitung Regent Burhanudin to implement the Tri Dharma (three pillars of university) in the fields of education, research, and community service.
“Because later, what we can get, especially in terms of improving the community’s income, will be concentrated in East Belitung. Whether it is through research or community service,” said Prof. Dadang.
Furthermore, Prof. Dadang said that another goal is for East Belitung Regency to increase its Local Revenue (PAD) in the creative industry.
It is also possible that Widyatama University will collaborate in product marketing, from production, distribution, and consumption. Even after the KKN Nusantara program is completed, the university also wants to continue the collaboration in the field of research.
“This is because Widyatama University provides grants to lecturers to conduct research. This is so that lecturers can conduct research and examine the problems that exist in East Belitung and provide solutions,” he said.
In addition, the Regent of East Belitung, Burhanudin, warmly welcomed the MoU signed with Widyatama University Bandung. This is especially true in the fields of research and education, which are greatly needed in East Belitung.
“I hope this can bring a new perspective to local government administration and campus development, benefiting communities across Indonesia, particularly the people of East Belitung,” said Burhanudin.
