Bandung, November 28th, 2024 – Widyatama University, through Academic Corporate Innovation (INKOPA), held a digital marketing training entitled “Competitive Selling Strategies for Culinary, Craft, and Fashion Products.” This collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) aims to improve the competence of students and MSME players in utilizing digital technology to develop their businesses. This event was made even more special by the presence of experts who were ready to equip participants with the latest digital business strategies.
Held in the Seminar Room on the 6th floor of Widyatama University, the training presented in-depth material on sales strategies and topics that are highly relevant to current market needs, providing a platform for Widyatama students and MSME players to explore the world of digital marketing in greater depth. “This event is excellent in terms of introduction, not only introduction but also advanced knowledge about digital marketing,” said Dr. Didit Damur Rochman, ST.MT., IPU, ASEAN Eng, Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, Innovation, and Cooperation.
In line with the Vice Rector III, the Head of the INKOPA Bureau at Widyatama University, Dr. Keni Kaniawati, S.E., M.Si., MCDMA, hopes that this training can improve the competence of participants, especially in terms of increasing brand awareness and sales volume. “The hope is that both in-wall and out-wall tenants, as well as students and especially SMEs, will have partners who understand digital marketing, its benefits, and how to implement it,” she said.

As a guest speaker at this training event, Indra Rusyadi Adiwijaya S.Kom., M.Si, an engineer from BRIN, emphasized the importance of competitive analysis in business. “In this era, there are many business ideas that overlap. So, the question is how to determine the positioning of our product, how to analyze our market in line with our product, so that we don’t end up doing business based on our own ego, thinking that what we think is good is actually good,” he explained. Indra also emphasized the importance of conducting market research before starting a business and advised participants to validate all aspects of their business before entering the market.
This training received positive responses from participants, both students and MSME players. One participant, who is a tenant of INKOPA, said, “Hopefully, my fellow students can start applying what they have learned right away. So, after learning the theory, they can immediately start applying it. That way, they will know what they are doing and how it will work in the future.”
Through this training, BRIN also opens opportunities for the community to develop themselves and their businesses. “Our hope is that with this training, the community can develop themselves. Those in business can advance their businesses,” said a BRIN representative.

With the rapid development of digital technology, training such as this is very important to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs. Collaboration between universities, research institutions, and business actors is expected to continue in order to create a conducive innovation ecosystem.
