As users increasingly require competent human resources in Japanese language skills, the Japanese Language Study Program at Widyatama University strives to improve students’ language abilities and deepen their understanding of Japanese management and culture, while also providing opportunities to apply the knowledge gained in lectures. To facilitate these opportunities, the Head of the Japanese Language Program, Dinda Gayatri Ranadireksa, M.A., Ph.D., took the initiative to collaborate with IFECE (International Foundation of Educational and Cultural Exchange) Japan in an internship program. The exploration of this collaboration began with a visit from IFECE representatives, Mr. Yoshio Kondo (Overseas Division IFECE) and Mr. Ando (IFECE Indonesia representative), on Monday, June 25, 2018.
During this visit, Mr. Kondo and the Japanese Language Study Program exchanged information about their respective company profiles and university profiles, particularly the study program profile as a whole. Mr. Kondo then provided a detailed explanation of the program, from the requirements, rights and obligations of program participants to the credit system that can be converted when students return to their home countries to continue their studies. This internship program will be held for a full year, placing participants in hotels and ryokans in the cities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Several student representatives were involved in exploring cooperation in the Graha Widyatama meeting room.
Both the Japanese Language Program and IFECE Japan hope that the collaboration can be established, and the program can be implemented to bring many benefits to Japanese Language Program students in particular and the institution in general.
