The Faculty of Economics (FE) has shown remarkable consistency in the development of education. This can be seen from the achievement of A Accreditation for the Accounting Study Program (S1) to the plan to establish new Study Programs, namely the Islamic Economics Study Program (S1) and Taxation (D4). The Dean of FE, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan K., S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., has formed a committee to facilitate the regulations for the establishment of these new study programs. In the third committee meeting (11/1), Mr. Wedi, as the person in charge of establishing the study programs, invited the heads of each bureau related to the administrative requirements that will soon be submitted to DIKTI.
This one-week preparation period will result in a complete set of standards. This is evident from the involvement of more than 20 FE lecturers in the formulation of these standards. The large number of policies, administrative matters that must be prepared, and formal requirements from DIKTI required Mr. Wedi to involve FE lecturers in formulating the requirements for the establishment of the study program. Starting from the need for lecturers, supporting facilities, curriculum collection, to the total number of students to be accepted as requirements for the establishment of the new study program.
“The involvement of new lecturers, especially in Accounting, has given us a new spirit in seriously establishing a new study program. Hopefully, with their energy and ideas, the establishment of this new study program will run according to the specified time,” said Mr. Wedi in his speech at the meeting, which also involved several bureaus involved in the preparation of the new study program line at FE Widyatama.
Ms. Erly, Coordinator of the Islamic Economics Undergraduate Program, added that the development of this program requires extensive reference from universities that have already established similar programs. Benchmarking and frequent visits to relevant universities are necessary to identify what needs to be implemented and to improve any shortcomings by introducing innovations to the program that will soon be established.
