One indicator of the success of an education system is the existence of a system used to measure the quality of the education output itself. Things that can be measured to determine the quality of graduates include competitiveness, user satisfaction with university graduates, the suitability of the skills used with the field studied, and many more.
Universitas Widyatama is very concerned about this. This is evidenced by the seriousness with which it handles alumni after they have completed their education at Universitas Widyatama. The serious and professional management of the Universitas Widyatama Career Center produces high-quality graduates. This is reflected in the activities carried out by the Career Center, including establishing partnerships with both private and government companies to find out what the business and industrial world (DUDI) currently needs, as well as to bridge graduates in obtaining employment or entrepreneurship.
In addition to organizing company relations activities, the Career Center also holds regular Job Fairs, which are open not only to Universitas Widyatama graduates but also to the general public. In the career development section of the Universitas Widyatama career center, all students and alumni can participate in training sessions organized by the career center.
Due to the Career Center’s seriousness in serving and tracking graduates, in 2017, the Career Center received a grant in the form of Advanced Career Center Service Development Assistance (BPKPKL) from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. This achievement was attained for the third time, resulting in the Widyatama Career Center being appointed as the Regional Coordinator for the Career Centers of West Java and Banten Provinces.
The graduate tracking results (Tracer Study) conducted by the Widyatama Career Center focus on soft skills competencies and the waiting period for graduates to find employment. The analysis shows that 60%–80% of Widyatama graduates possess good competencies. The average waiting period for Widyatama graduates to find employment is 4.6 months (Source: Widyatama Career Center Tracer Study Report 2017).
The output of the Tracer Study is expected to serve as a self-evaluation of the competencies produced by the university, in this case Widyatama, as well as an evaluation of the curriculum in each study program, which is tailored to the needs of the business and industrial world (DUDI).
