On Tuesday (February 19th, 2019), hundreds of high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students filled the multipurpose building at Widyatama University. 135 participants took part in a competition organized by the English Department of Widyatama University in collaboration with the English Student Association. The competitions held included a speech contest, writing contest, storytelling, trivia games, and singing contest.
The event also featured entertainment, including live music performed by Universitas Widyatama alumni, one of whom was Indonesian Idol contestant Sarah. In addition to live music, there was entertainment provided by the Pika-Pika Japan Community and a student art group big band.

This activity was carried out with the aim of boosting confidence and as a talent show for the contestants. In addition, this event was also expected to strengthen the kinship and friendship between the committee members, between the participants, and between the committee and the participants.

“Alhamdulillah, the event ran smoothly. Although there were a few obstacles, they were overcome, and I am very grateful because the event was very exciting. Hopefully, future events will be even more exciting and interesting than this one,” said Resha, chair of the English Festival 2019 organizing committee.
