Universitas Widyatama is one of Indonesia’s private universities located in the Cikutra area of Bandung. Widyatama University was established in 1973 (formerly STIEB) and has decades of experience in producing high-quality graduates who contribute to society.
In addition to offering diploma and bachelor degree programs, Universitas Widyatama also offers postgraduate programs. UTama also offers International Programs (IP) in collaboration with TROY State University, USA (Joint-Degree). All study programs/majors are ISO 9001:2008 certified by the German PT TUV International Certification Agency and accredited by the National Accreditation Agency, Directorate General of Higher Education, in the 2008 and 2009 Quality Assurance System assessments, placing Universitas Widyatama among the best in Indonesia and ensuring a high quality of education for all students.
Aiming to become a world-class university, Widyatama University continues to collaborate with other educational institutions, both domestic and foreign, including the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Padjajaran University (UNPAD), TROY State University Alabama-USA, Universite Paul Cezane d’Aix – Marseille III France, Universitat Passau-Germany, Fachhochschule Osnabruek-Germany, Johannes Kepler University Linz -Austria, De La Salle Lipa-Philippines, San Beda College-Philippines, Universiti Industri Selangor-Malaysia, OPEN University Malaysia, RETI Malaysia, University Utara Malaysia, Geomatika Institute-Malaysia, Japan Foundation, Kinjo Gakuin University, Nagoya, Dongseo University, Busan South Korea, and Ryukoku University, Japan.
Starting in October 2011, Universitas Widyatama was officially registered as a member of the IAU (International Association of Universities), a world association of higher education institutions under the auspices of UNESCO. In 2013, Universitas Widyatama received the Bidik Misi program for 15 students. In 2011, it received an International Cooperation Grant from the Directorate General of Higher Education, in addition to research and student grants. In the 2011/2012 academic year, 327 students received scholarships. In 2010, Widyatama University provided full scholarships for the duration of their studies to high-achieving but underprivileged students from remote areas.
The university provides up-to-date and innovative learning facilities, supported by information and communication technology for the learning process and access to academic information, including web-based services such as e-learning, e-library, e-journal, and a Career Center as a post-study service for graduates. All internet services can be accessed on campus, at hotspots, and via Wi-Fi, which is provided free of charge. Facilities include a TV station (UTama TV) for the community, social media (Twitter: @UTama and Facebook: Universitas Widyatama), and a tabloid/magazine (KOMUNITA) as a medium for disseminating campus information.
Special academic information services for students are available through e-campus. These services include: email, class schedules, exam schedules, grade lists, student attendance information, certificate requests, final exam schedules, news, and assignments from lecturers. All of this information is paperless and can be accessed from anywhere at any time. Students can access it from home, internet cafes, or free Wi-Fi facilities on campus.
In the field of student affairs, there have been notable achievements at the provincial and national levels, including awards from the Directorate General of Higher Education for the 2010 Student Creativity Program for Scientific Articles (PKM-AI) and Student Creativity Program for Written Ideas (PKM-GT), 1st place in the 2011 West Java Batik Ambassador competition, and a Cultural Exchange Program at Naseruan University, Thailand for 3 months. Students and lecturers from the Informatics Engineering Study Program created a computer program called “Multi-Port SMS Gateway” and registered it for copyright with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on April 14th, 2011. Students from the Informatics Engineering Study Program also successfully created a robot, one of which was the Angklung Robot.
Over 10,000 alumni of Universitas Widyatama are spread out and absorbed into the workforce, particularly in the banking sector, entrepreneurship, insurance, consumer goods, IT, graphic design, and many other fields, holding important positions, especially in the banking and business sectors.
As a form of Widyatama University’s concern for education and parents, entering its 43rd year, we strive to keep tuition fees very affordable compared to other universities of the same class so that all levels of society can enjoy higher education/college. Additionally, we provide scholarships from both internal sources (Widyatama Foundation) and external sources (including Bank OCBC NISP, PT. Ultra Jaya, DIKTI, and many others).
