On Saturday (February 13), Widyatama University (UTama) welcomed a visit from SMAN 1 Soreang. The group arrived at around 9:00 a.m. at the Widyatama parking lot and was welcomed by the Marketing Bureau staff and Marketing Crew. The group was led by Mrs. Hj. Elis Suwangsih, Coordinator of BK SMAN 1 Soreang, and representative teachers from the school. SMAN 1 Soreang brought around 450 students from various departments, including natural sciences and social sciences.
The event began with a speech from the Head of the Marketing Bureau, Mrs. Devy Mawarnie P, S.E., M.M., followed by a speech from the Deputy Principal for Student Affairs, Mr. Endang, S.Pd. The event then continued with a tryout held in the Widyatama University Auditorium. This has many benefits for the school, especially the students, as it provides hard skills training for SMAN 1 Soreang.
The presence of Mr. Pipin as a motivator during this series of visits motivated the students, especially in the context of the upcoming National Exams. The purpose of the group’s visit to UTama was to provide high school graduates and their equivalents with an understanding of higher education. This is because high school graduates do not yet know which university they will attend after graduating from high school and what major they will choose when they go to college. In addition to providing this understanding, the visit was used as a means to provide more detailed information about Widyatama University. At the end of the event, the Head of the Bureau presented merchandise and souvenirs to the group and held a photo session to foster familiarity and good relations between the two institutions.
