Taufik Hidayat, a 2008 Accounting student at the Faculty of Economics, made it to the semifinals of the 2011 Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) competition, beating hundreds of other participants.
Taufik Hidayat, a 2008 graduate of the Faculty of Economics, Accounting Study Program, successfully advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) competition, beating out hundreds of other participants. The annual program organized by PT Bayer Indonesia in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) is an environmental competition program for young Indonesians who have a genuine concern for the environment to learn about technologies, facilities, and practices related to environmental protection.
The final-year student, who is fondly known as Opik, submitted a proposal titled Conservation of Damaging Farming Land Caused by Brick Industries through Agro Forestry Project Utilizing Farming Waste, which focuses on the rejuvenation of agricultural land that has been converted into brick industry land in the Garut area, West Java. This program requires participants to implement environmental improvement projects by September this year. The two best participants will be included in the BYEE International Forum in Leverkusen, Germany, representing Indonesia in October 2011.***
