Bandung, October 25th, 2025 — A cheerful and friendly atmosphere colored the Takoyaki Party (Takopa) event organized by Widyatama University students together with Padjadjaran University students on Saturday (10/25).
This event was made possible thanks to the full support of Wagai Sensei, a peace activist from Shonan Ajia, Japan, who contributed in the form of financial assistance and guidance for the event as part of his global peace program.
Takopa served as a platform for collaboration and a means to strengthen the friendship between the Japanese Language Student Association (HIMADE) of Padjadjaran University and the Nihongo Gakka Student Association (HIMANIKA) of Widyatama University. Through this event, students had the opportunity to interact with each other, exchange cultural insights, and deepen their understanding of Japanese cuisine.
From the batter-making stage to the takoyaki cooking process, the students were enthusiastic and actively involved with Wagai Sensei. Laughter, jokes, and the distinctive aroma of takoyaki filled the room, making this activity not just cooking together, but a warm and memorable experience.
A representative of HIMANIKA Universitas Widyatama students said that this activity was not only fun, but also strengthened the friendship and spirit of collaboration between universities that have an interest in Japanese language and culture.
Meanwhile, Wagai Sensei expressed his hope that simple but meaningful activities like this would continue to be held in the future. “It is through activities like this that peace and friendship between nations can begin—from small and sincere things,” he said.
The Takoyaki Party activity then closed with a group photo session and a message to always maintain good relations between Universitas Widyatama and Universitas Padjajaran. Takopa is not just a cooking event, but a symbol of the spirit of friendship and peace across campuses and cultures. (UK)
