In his speech, Hendar said that there are many career prospects available to graduates of the Widyatama English Study Program, as can be seen from the graduate profiles, many of whom work in various fields because English is the language used by the majority of the world’s population.
The event began with a brief explanation of the purpose and objectives of the event by the moderator, Devy Mawarnie Puspitasari, S.E., M.M., who invited the first speaker, the Head of the Widyatama English Study Program.
“Currently, English graduates are in high demand in the business world, such as banking (especially foreign banks), hospitality, national and international companies, and of course schools. Many students have already started working while still in college. By the final semester, companies usually already ‘apply’ to recruit them. It’s just a matter of choosing which field to work in,” said Hendar.
In addition to the ease of finding employment and broad career prospects, during their studies many students in the Widyatama English Study Program participate in student exchange programs at various universities abroad. For those who excel academically, there are many scholarships available to active students, as explained by two English Study Program students, Aulia Gita and Daniel.
Both students successfully won scholarships from the Djarum Foundation and Kopertis for two consecutive years. Aulia shared her experience of winning the scholarship and explained to the workshop participants that Universitas Widyatama offers many scholarship facilities that can be utilized to improve academic performance.
“In addition to improving academic performance, the advantage of winning a scholarship from the Djarum Foundation is that students receive training to hone their soft skills,” said Aulia. (Ed)
