Parking Facilities
The availability of parking spaces or areas for private vehicles is one of the facilities expected by those who have a campus life. The need for parking spaces has increased year by year in line with the growth of the student body at Widyatama University (UTama). The large number of students who bring private vehicles, especially four-wheeled vehicles, requires attention in terms of parking space layout so that the available parking area can be used optimally.
The increase in the number of students has certainly had a positive impact on the welfare of employees and teaching staff, as seen in the growing number of private vehicle owners, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled. Another issue that needs to be anticipated is the need for parking space for students as well as educational and non-educational employees.
“Every day, there are around 500 four-wheeled vehicles and around 1,200 two-wheeled vehicles filling the parking space capacity at Widyatama University,” explained Mardi, Head of the UTama Facilities Bureau. He added that in order to improve services, UTama has opened a parking area adjacent to the Pustakaloka Building that can accommodate around 100 four-wheeled vehicles. Although parking security is already quite good with 24-hour security guard supervision, CCTV cameras and helmet storage facilities will be added to further enhance security services.
