“New packaging” Visit to SMAN 2 and SMAN 6 Cimahi

On Thursday (10/12), Widyatama University (UTama) welcomed back visits from http://sman2cimahi.sch.id/ (http://sman2cimahi.sch.id/) and SMAN 6 (http://sman6cimahi.siap-sekolah.com/) in Cimahi City. The head of the delegation from SMAN 2, Mrs. Imas, as the Guidance Counselor Coordinator, brought around 120 students consisting of MIA and IIS majors. In contrast, SMAN 6 was led by Mrs. Dedeh, the Deputy Principal for Curriculum, who accompanied her students along with their guidance counselors and BK teachers. She brought around 60 students who were interested in enrolling at Widyatama University.

The group arrived at around 8:30 a.m. at the Widyatama parking lot. It took quite a long time, unlike the planned event rundown, due to other circumstances. Since there was no request for a tryout or TOEFL from the school, the Widyatama University Marketing Bureau packaged the visit in a new, more entertaining way. Usually, the study programs bring their representatives for presentations, but this time, the Marketing Bureau packaged it as a talk show with students from the relevant study programs who have a wealth of achievements. “This is an inspiring activity, where the event is presented in such an energetic and motivating way that it encourages our students to be more confident in choosing their academic programs,” added Mrs. Lia, a representative from SMAN 2 Cimahi.

The arrival of these high school students was greeted with great respect by the Marketing Bureau Staff and Marketing Crew on duty. The event, which took place in the Seminar Room on the 4th floor of Building A at Widyatama University, was greeted with great enthusiasm. The students’ enthusiasm increased when the Information Technology study program presented its Klungto (Angkung Toel) robot prototype. This was followed by a presentation of game creations, which drew even more excitement from the audience. This visit was part of the institution’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, as well as a form of achievement for the marketing bureau’s work program. The maturity of this visitation program was a breakthrough for the success of the event. The presence of Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M. as a motivator was well received by the students who will be taking the National Examination. They were given “advice” in an entertaining manner by the motivator, who is also a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management.

The purpose of the group’s visit to UTama was to provide high school graduates and their equivalents with an understanding of the world of higher education. This is because high school graduates are not yet aware of which university they will choose to attend after graduating from high school and which major they will choose when they start college. In addition to providing this understanding, the visit was also used as a means to provide information about Widyatama University. At the end of the event, the delegation and the visitation committee held a group photo session to foster familiarity and good relations between the two institutions.
