Journalism Training at Widyatama University Focuses on Digitalization and AI

Bandung, September 24th-25th, 2024 – Widyatama University held a two-day journalism training attended by university employees, including faculty staff, study program staff, and bureau staff. This event was held in collaboration with Pikiran Rakyat Media Network and featured experienced speakers who discussed topics related to the development of digital media and technology.

The first session was presented by Gita Pratiwi, who raised the topic of “The Position of Journalism in the Digital Media Ecosystem.” Gita emphasized the importance of journalism maintaining ethical standards and integrity, even amid the rapid dynamics of digital media. She also provided insights on how traditional media can adapt to technological innovations without losing the essence of journalism.

Continuing to the second session, Ramadhan Dwi Waluya presented material on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), with a focus on website optimization. Ramadhan explained the important role of SEO in increasing the visibility of journalistic content on search engines and provided strategies for websites to reach a wider audience.

Rahmi Nurfajriani discussed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing website and social media content. Rahmi presented various AI-based tools that can accelerate and simplify the content creation process, as well as utilize reader data to create more relevant content.

Finally, Kannia N presented material on building influence on social media, discussing personal branding strategies and creative content. Kannia provides tips on utilizing social media as a tool to connect with audiences, as well as build trust and broader influence in the virtual world.

This training is expected to improve the ability of Widyatama University employees to utilize digital technology and AI in their daily work, especially in relation to information dissemination and content management within the university environment.
