Hacking, stealing data without permission, or disrupting another party’s website is considered illegal cyber activity, better known as cyber crime. However, this was not the case on Saturday (25/4). A total of seven teams attempted to steal data and change the appearance of a website at a hacker competition, which was part of the Widyatama Technology Event ’09 on the second floor of the Pustakaloka building.
In the final round, Oppi Imam Hanafian, a Japanese language student at Widyatama University, managed to hack into and take control of a website provided by the committee in less than an hour. The team from the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Gn. Djati Bandung, consisting of Idham Khalid and Rahmat Setiawan, had to settle for second place, followed by Andreas Riadi and M. Ghazali from the Widyatama University Bandung team.
Previously on Wednesday (April 22), a talk show was held with the theme of Utilizing the Internet as a Lucrative (Business) Medium. With a lighthearted style, Vensia Tjhin, speaker and sales director of www.bhinneka.com, explained that with the number of internet users increasing every year, online media is a promising business medium.
In Session 2, Grahadea, Music Producer, and Arie Ardiansyah, Audio Software Programmer, presented material on Digital Music, Harmony, and Technology. It was mentioned that, with current technological developments, creating music without musical instruments is very possible. With the help of existing software programs, creating musical harmonies will be easier.
