Inauguration
Next Wednesday, Indonesia will welcome an important event, namely the General Election of the President and Vice President who will lead the country for the next 5 years. The excitement of the leadership election was also felt at Widyatama University, starting with the election of the Student President for the next term and the election of a new Rector. The new Rector of the University for the next four years has been elected. The excitement was evident at the Rector’s inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Widyatama University Auditorium on July 7, 2014. Now, Widyatama University has a Rector elected for the 2014-2018 term, Mr. Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E. M.Si, Ak., from 9 candidates who participated in the selection process for the Rector of Widyatama University for this period.
It is hoped that the elected Rector will bring Widyatama University forward. The vision of the elected Rector is TO MAKE WIDYATAMA UNIVERSITY A WELL-KNOWN, EXCELLENT, INDEPENDENT, AND CULTURED PRIVATE UNIVERSITY AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL BY 2018.
- Excellent means that UTAMA consciously educates students so that the human resources produced are able to compete at the national, regional, and international levels. With this excellence, UTAMA is directed to become a well-known institution, especially in terms of implementing education, research, and community service, as well as the development of science and technology.
- Independent means that UTAMA has autonomy in various aspects, especially in planning and implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, having a strong personality, being confident, and being highly competitive, so that it is able to develop independently.
- Cultural means that UTAMA as a higher education institution is directed to produce human resources who are able to uphold the values of honesty and academic truth.
The mission is as follows:
- To carry out the Vision & Mission of Widyatama University based on the Vision & Mission of the Widyatama Foundation.
- To carry out the Tridarma PT (Three Pillars of Higher Education) with quality and produce graduates with high morals and integrity in accordance with the demands of society.
- To realize the quality of UTAMA based on BAN PT Accreditation.
The work program to be implemented by the Rector, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E. M.Si, Ak. is as follows
IMPLEMENTATION:
1. Vision, mission, goals and objectives, as well as achievement strategies
2. Governance, leadership, management systems, and quality assurance
3. Increasing the quantity and quality of students and graduates
4. Improving the quality and quantity of human resources (lecturers and employees)
5. Improvement and development of the curriculum, learning, and academic atmosphere
6. Acquisition of adequate funding, facilities and infrastructure, and information systems
7. Improvement of research, community service, and cooperation.
Meanwhile, the priority agenda to be implemented is as follows:
- Carry out reorganization.
- Completing the 2013-2023 Strategic Plan
- Filling out the AIPT form and improving BAN-PT accreditation.
- Holding seminars/workshops related to human resources.
- Improving lecturer positions.
- Fostering an academic atmosphere.
- Preparing annual reports.
- Personnel development: (1) meeting with the Rector and regular meetings. (2) University Executive Meeting with the Foundation to receive and discuss input from the University.
- Faculty career development.
Employees, faculty, and students hope that with the new leader, a new, better, and more innovative paradigm will emerge for the good of the University, both in terms of its reputation and institutional health.
