The inauguration of the Rector of Widyatama University Bandung, Dr. Mame S Sutoko, Ir., D.E.A., by the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Management Board, Prof. Dr. Koesbandijah AK., M.S., Ak., on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in the Seminar Room on the 4th Floor of the Widyatama Rectorate Building, Jl. Cikutra Bandung. Mame, who served as Rector for the period 2006 to 2010, was elected for the second time (2001-2006). In his speech after being inaugurated, Meme reminded everyone that in this global era, competition in education management is no longer at the local level, but international, and that in the future, domestic universities must be able to compete in quality with universities from abroad. Meanwhile, the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Management Board, Prof. Dr. Koesbandijah, emphasized in her speech that Widyatama University, as a private university, will base its future development policies on a higher education long-term strategy focused on three main issues: increasing national competitiveness, autonomy in education management, and organizational health.
