TRIBUNJABAR.ID – Bandung, May 5, 2025 – The Indonesian Institute of Public Accountants (IAPI) officially inaugurated its West Java Regional Office at Universitas Widyatama, Bandung. This inauguration marks an important step in strengthening collaboration between academia and the accounting profession, particularly in supporting the improvement in the quality of public accountants in the West Java region.
The event was attended by a number of important figures from the Universitas Widyatama Foundation and University, as well as representatives from leading professional associations such as the Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI), the Indonesian Management Auditors Association (IAMI), the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI), and the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI), as well as leaders from various campuses in West Java.

In his speech, Sandra Pracipta, representing the IAPI National Executive Board, expressed her appreciation for Widyatama University’s support in realizing this strategic initiative. “The collaboration between IAPI and Universitas Widyatama is expected to strengthen the national public accounting ecosystem and create sustainable synergy between the world of education and the professional world,” said Sandra.
The Vice Rector for Human Resources, Finance, Planning, and Governance at Widyatama University, R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, warmly welcomed the collaboration. “We are honored to be a partner of IAPI West Java. This synergy will open up more learning opportunities for students, both at the theoretical and practical levels, so that they can be better prepared to face the challenges of the working world,” he said.
Tedy, as the Regional Coordinator Chair of IAPI West Java, emphasized that this collaboration is a strategic step in building the capacity of public accountants in the region. “Universitas Widyatama has a complete range of accounting study programs from Diploma to Postgraduate. This collaboration is in line with the principle of lifelong learning, and we are committed to providing learning that is not only theory-based but also practical experience relevant to industry needs,” he explained.

He also added that each region has different characteristics and industrial needs. Therefore, IAPI West Java will continue to encourage student involvement in various activities that sharpen practical understanding in the fields of accounting, taxation, and finance.
This inauguration is expected to be a significant first step in strengthening the relationship between higher education institutions and the accounting profession. In addition, this initiative is also aimed at producing more reliable public accountants who are ready to compete in an increasingly dynamic industrial era.
