The atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijri is still resonating among Muslims everywhere. This includes the Widyatama Academic Community. In order to strengthen the bonds of friendship among the entire Academic Community, the Widyatama Foundation and University held a Halal Bihalal gathering with the theme “Eid al-Fitr 1439 H Friendship Gathering of the Widyatama Foundation and University Family” on Tuesday (6/26) at the Widyatama Auditorium (GSG) Building. Attending this Halal Bihalal event were the first Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. Mame S. Sutoko, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in 2003, Prof. Dr. Hiro Tugiman.


The event began at 9:00 a.m. with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech from the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA. In his speech, Mr. Islah said that this halal bihalal gathering was intended to strengthen ties and increase commitment to the institution. Additionally, it aimed to foster a sense of togetherness among the leadership, faculty, staff, and student representatives. Nearly a thousand guests attended the halal bihalal event.

The Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Management Board, Sri Lestari A. Roespinoedji, SH, said in her speech, “The spirit of togetherness and tolerance is based on positive thinking, positive feelings, positive motivation, and positive behavior in order to glorify and bring happiness to Allah and His creations. This moment after Eid al-Fitr is hoped to encourage us to return to our natural disposition, tolerance, and nationality, both as individuals and as social beings, and as components of the nation who respect, appreciate, and benefit each other.


The Widyatama Foundation holds a regular Halal Bihalal gathering every year in the month of Shawwal, featuring guest speakers. This year, Kang Harry and Kang Nais gave religious lectures on the importance of fostering friendship and respect among fellow human beings in the world. The Halal Bihalal event concluded with all members of the academic community in attendance shaking hands and sharing lunch together.
