Bandung – Saturday (May 20), Widyatama University held its Batch II graduation ceremony for the 2022/2023 academic year. The event was held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building (GSG). The event was attended by the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region IV West Java and Banten, represented by Lestari, S.H., M.M. as Chair of the Institutional, Facilities and Infrastructure Working Group, Widyatama Foundation Advisor, Sri Juniati, S.E., MBA and her staff, Widyatama Foundation Supervisor Sri Lestari Roespinoedji, S.H. and her staff, Widyatama Foundation Management, Roeshartono, S.T., MCEM., MBA. and his staff, Vice Rectors, Widyatama University Senate, Deans, Vice Deans, and Lecturers.
Also inviting guests from universities, including: the Head of STKIP Syekh Manshur, Drs. H. Salman Sunardi, M.Pd., the Rector of ARS University, Prof. Dr. Purwadhi, M.Pd., the Head of STIE Ekuitas, Prof. Mokhamad Anwar, SE., M.Si., Ph.D., Rector of UNISAL, Fatimah Nurjannati Iskandar, S.E., M.Ak.
The graduation ceremony is a very meaningful moment in academic life, not only for the graduates, but also for their families, friends, and lecturers who have supported and guidance throughout the educational process. Along with the graduates’ success in completing their studies, they also celebrate their enthusiasm and strong determination to achieve their goals and dreams.
At this graduation ceremony, Widyatama University will graduate 862 students from various study programs within the academic community. The graduates consist of 211 people from the Master’s and Postgraduate Accountant levels, 439 graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Business, 73 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, 100 graduates from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, and 39 graduates from the Faculty of Visual Communication Design.
Different previous graduations, this time Widyatama University also invited the parents of the graduates to accompany them and watch their beloved children receive their master’s, accountant, bachelor’s, and associate degrees.
The ceremony begined with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, a moment of silence, and a prayer recited by Yanyan Agustian, Ph.D., as the Head of the Civil Engineering Study Program at Widyatama University. This was followed by the opening remarks and the reading of the decree by the Vice Rector for Higher Education & Student Affairs, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.SI., AK., C.A., followed by remarks from LLDikti and then remarks from the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum.
Prof. Dadang said that the final episode of the journey of studying at Widyatama University is the beginning of a new journey that is even more challenging.
“I would like to congratulate and express my highest appreciation to the graduates for their hard work, dedication, and commitment during their studies. You have successfully completed a challenging and demanding curriculum, meeting strict academic requirements and earning a degree that you deserve,” said Prof. Dadang.
“To all graduates, once again, I congratulate you on successfully completing your studies at Widyatama University, your beloved alma mater. Allow me to express my gratitude to your parents for entrusting their sons and daughters to us to pursue their education at Widyatama University.” , added Prof. Dadang.
The event continued with the commencement ceremony and the calling of graduates to the stage, where they were immediately congratulated by the Rector and Deans of each faculty. An emotional atmosphere was created during the break in the commencement ceremony when the Widyatama University Vocal Group performed the song Anugerah Terindah (The Most Beautiful Gift). Selected graduates presented flowers as a symbolic of gratitude to their parents who had cared for and accompanied them until they obtained their coveted degrees.
After the calling procession was completed, the graduates sang the Widyatama Hymn together and watched a performance by the Widyatama Vocal Group, who sang the song “Manusia Kuat” by Tulus while exiting the GSG room.
