Widyatama University and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) collaborated in holding a talk show with the theme “From Designers to Future Designpreneurs” on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, inviting UTama students and high school and vocational school students throughout Greater Bandung to participate and receive training. The event opened at 9:00 a.m. by the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) Deden Maulana A., Drs., M.Ds.
According to Deden, the purpose of this talkshow is to develop the skills of students for the future.
“We have invited four speakers, including Andrea Isa, S.Ds., Nala Rinaldo, Drs., Hakim Lubis, Drs., and Dendy Darman, Drs. Hopefully, this talk show can serve as preparation for students to be competitive, and hopefully, it will discuss something good and useful.”
The next speech was given by Didik Suhardi, Ph.D., Deputy for Mental Revolution and Cultural Advancement Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
“The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture has collaborated with Widyatama University, and I am very proud because it provides positive and innovative activities, including this talk show, which is part of the innovation.”
He added that the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture itself has the task of coordinating human and cultural development in Indonesia, which has big dreams for 2045. According to him, Indonesia has a demographic advantage.
“This grand vision needs to be pursued, with better welfare, prosperity, and democracy, a process that must be extraordinary and fast, the key being human resources. This is an opportunity to become creators and innovators, hopefully in the future Indonesia can get new entrepreneurs.”
The mental revolution movement itself is part of the Indonesian independence movement, marked by an increasing number of creative and innovative entrepreneurs.
Also present was the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., who stated that the goal of education in Indonesia is to educate the nation, impart knowledge and skills, and shape attitudes.
“Intelligence is not always acquired at university, intellectual potential can be found everywhere. The key to success is to socialize with various communities and types of people, because social capital will signal new intelligence,” he added.
“In this event, hopefully the speakers can inspire all students. Young people today have great potential to create businesses with easier facilities. Interact with the right people (entrepreneurs).”
