Face-to-face lectures have begun, the Student Affairs Bureau, LP2M, and IKA Widyatama University are holding mass vaccinations.

The Student Affairs Office, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of Widyatama University, assisted by the Widyatama University Alumni Association (IKA) and the Chinese Community Care Group, held a mass COVID-19 vaccination event as an effort to build herd immunity.

This vaccination used the Pfizer vaccine with a quota of 300 people and was held at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building, Jalan Cikutra, No. 204-A, Bandung City, on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

“This activity was certainly carried out successfully thanks to the cooperation with IKA and the Chinese Community Care, which was initiated by the Student Affairs Bureau and LP2M.” Said the Vice Rector for Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.SI., AK., C.A., while giving a speech at the event. He added that the booster vaccine is especially important for stakeholders of the Widyatama University academic community.

“Hopefully, this activity will be beneficial for all of us, both the university community and the surrounding community, because this program is needed by many parties,” he added.

Also present was Andre Anderson, Chair of the Widyatama University Alumni Association. According to him, this mass vaccination was carried out on the initiative of the rectorate and student affairs, as well as the Chinese community, with the support of POLRESTABES and various sponsors.

“Our goal is that lectures have now begun and one of the requirements is that there must be a booster, which makes it easier for us to carry out activities in terms of access requirements for all of us when traveling and going to public places.”

He also added that the role of alumni is very important, especially in events like this, because in his view, alumni are the cornerstone of a university.

“The success of Widyatama University is inseparable from its alumni themselves; society will judge how successful the alumni of Widyatama University are,” he added.
