The Widyatama Knowledge Development and Application Institute (LPAP) collaborated with the UTAMA Faculty of Economics Student Senate (SeMA FE) to hold a talk show on March 8, 2008. The speakers were: Sjafrudin Mosii, S.E., M.M. (BPK RI), Heliantono, Ak. (Indonesian Institute of Public Accountants), Tan Ming Kuang, S.E., M.Si., Ak. (Indonesian Accountants Association of West Java), and Bambang Budi Tresno, S.E., BAP. (Owner of KAP Bambang Budi Tresno). The event, titled “Demands, Challenges, and Opportunities in the Accounting Profession,” attracted 246 participants.
This talk show was very interesting for students to listen to. It provided a lot of positive input in facing demands, challenges, and job opportunities, especially for Faculty of Economics students who plan to continue their education in the accounting profession and cultivate the mentality of accounting graduates and the accounting profession to have a sense of: maintaining the integrity, commitment, and competence of members in the development of business and public management oriented towards ethics, responsibility, and the environment, developing knowledge of business practices, finance, attestation, non-attestation, and accounting for the community, and actively participating in the realization of good governance through legitimate organizational efforts and from a national and international perspective.
In this talk show, participants gained insight into what they need to prepare to face competition among friends, between campuses, and even between countries. Meanwhile, another equally interesting part of the event was the question and answer segment, where the committee gave several prizes to participants who took part in the Q&A session. The prizes were donated by the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Management Board, Prof. Dr. Hj. Koesbandijah. AK., M.S., Ak. and the Advisor to the Widyatama Foundation, Toto Ontowiryo, Drs., MBA. The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and plaques by LPAP to the speakers and a group photo session.
