Quality educational institutions are not only measured by the large number of students they accommodate. The quality of their output is also a measure of the success of education within the institution. Over time, companies have placed great emphasis on the need for manpower with a high capacity for hard work.
With the strength of the Widyatama University (UTama) curriculum, which is based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), it can help and respond to the needs of companies in this era of “rapid growth.” Therefore, the rapid absorption of Widyatama graduates into the workforce is one of UTama’s strengths.
In anticipation of the ASEAN Economic Community, especially in terms of empowering quality human resources, UTama provides a forum for alumni to meet with companies in a Company Gathering forum. With the theme “Analysis of the Relevance of Graduate Competencies to the Needs of the World of Work,” the event, which was held in the Seminar Room on the 4th floor, is expected to help companies create quality human resources to achieve optimal organizational goals.
Approximately 15 companies were invited, and several signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) as a symbolic representation of the companies’ involvement in the search for human resources. Also present were the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., along with his staff, deans, and program chairs at UTama. The event report was delivered directly by the Head of the UTama Career Center, Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M., followed by a speech from the Rector and the striking of a gong to mark the start of the event. The event proceeded solemnly with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem by all attendees on Saturday (20/2). Following the signing of the MoU with the companies, discussions took place between the companies and the academic programs. This was followed by company presentations and a question-and-answer session with alumni.
