That is roughly the message conveyed by the series of events in Business Management Week entitled The Joyful of Business with the theme Be an Agent of Change in the Middle of Economic Global Dynamic organized by the Student Senate of the Faculty of Business and Management (Sema FBM) on Saturday, April 29, at the Multipurpose Building (GSG) of Widyatama University. The event received a positive response, as evidenced by the high enthusiasm of the participants.
Business Management Week is an annual event as well as the final work program in each period of Sema FBM Widyatama University. As the name suggests, this series of events lasted for about a week and was divided into several events with different activities. It began with a national debate competition between universities entitled Wondetion (Widyatama on Debate Competition), which took place over three exciting days, from April 25 to 27, and was attended by 13 teams from seven universities throughout Indonesia. This was followed by WiDo (Widyatama Donate) in collaboration with the Bandung City Red Cross, featuring charitable activities, blood donation, and community service in Padasuka Village on April 28, and concluded with The Joyful of Business.
“The selection of this theme is one of the efforts to motivate students, especially at Widyatama University, to prepare themselves to face competition and the dynamics of the global economy,” said Lukman, Executive Chair of The Joyful of Business. For your information, Widyatama University’s tagline targets its students to become reliable businesspeople from an early age and, of course, competitive, while still caring for others and not forgetting their obligations to their religion and nation.
At least 560 students participated in The Joyful of Business event. Although the presence of the Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil, as one of the speakers was replaced by the Head of the Economic Affairs Division of the Bandung City Secretariat, Lusi Lesminingwari, due to a meeting that could not be canceled, which was regrettable for the majority of the event participants, the event still proceeded in a conducive, lively, and entertaining manner with guest stars Teddy Adhitya and Sheila Dara Aisha as well as UTama Dance Crew (UDC) giving their best performances.
