On Tuesday (3/2), Widyatama University received a visit from universities in South Korea. The universities that attended were Chon Buk Nation University, Jeon Ju University, Woo Suk University, Wo Kwang University, and Kun San National University.
Their visit to Indonesia, specifically to Widyatama University (UTama), was aimed at establishing cooperation in the areas of student exchange, Bachelor’s Program scholarships, and Master’s Program scholarships. Symbolically, this cooperation was marked by the signing of a Letter of Intent between the S1 Management program and the S1 Computer Science program with the five universities in Korea. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between Widyatama University, signed directly by Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA as Rector of Widyatama University, and SEAMOLEC, signed directly by Dr. rer.nat. AB Susanto, M.Sc. The event, held at the Seminar Building, was organized through the collaboration of Indonesian Korean Culture and Study Korea (IKCS Korea) and SEAMOLEC as the umbrella organization overseeing the continuity of cooperation between universities in Indonesia and many universities in Korea.
Not only university officials welcomed the arrival of the five Korean universities, but the presence of BPI students along with their teachers and parents/guardians also enlivened the event. Enthusiasm was evident from the numerous questions about studying in the Land of Ginseng. Not only did BPI High School attend the Korean study scholarship seminar, but even the private vocational school that is developing in the city of Bandung, SMK Medika.com, came in droves to pursue the scholarships they offered.
With the cooperation between UTama and these five Korean universities, it is hoped that the audience, especially prospective students, can gain valuable insights from the event. UTama’s commitment to improving the quality of education can be seen from the international collaboration that was carried out based on the initiative of the UTama Cooperation Bureau and Marketing Bureau. Hopefully, this first meeting will not be the end of the collaboration between the two institutions, but will continue in order to improve the stability of education in each country.
