Bandung, April 25th, 2025 – Universitas Widyatama (UTama) has once again shown its commitment to improving academic quality, especially for educators. On Friday, April 25, 2025, accounting expert from Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD, appeared as a visiting lecturer to give a presentation on “Research Methodology in Business”. The prestigious event, which took place in the Auditorium of the Student Activity Center (PKM) Building on the 6th floor of Universitas Widyatama , was solemn and interactive. This event was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, with the main objective of updating their competencies related to research, particularly on issues of behavioral accounting.
Enhancing Lecturer Competence Through Visiting Lecturer Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz at Widyatama University
The visiting lecturer activity by Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD at Universitas Widyatama was carefully designed to provide maximum impact. The event began at 8:00 a.m. with participant registration. At exactly 8:15 a.m., the atmosphere became solemn with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by a prayer. Warm welcomes were then delivered in succession by the Head of the Accounting Undergraduate Program, Dr. Syafrizal Ikram, SE, M.Si, Ak, CA, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business, Dr. H. Nuryaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A. The highlight of the opening ceremony was the speech by the Rector of Widyatama University, who was represented on this occasion by the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Finance, Planning, and Governance, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A. He emphasized the importance of such activities for the advancement of the institution.
Entering the core session at 08:45 WIB, Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD, who also serves as President of the ASEAN Accounting Education Workgroup and Professor of Accounting at UniKL Business School, Malaysia, began his presentation on behavioral research in business. The material presented was highly relevant to the needs of lecturers in producing quality research. This session was not only a one-way presentation of material, but was also interspersed with interactive question and answer sessions, allowing participants to explore the topics discussed in greater depth. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the many questions and discussions that arose, demonstrating their focus and high level of interest in the material. The event concluded at 10:05 a.m. after the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers and words of thanks.

High Enthusiasm and Expectations for Collaboration from Visiting Lecturer Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz to Universitas Widyatama
Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD himself expressed his admiration for the participants’ response. “It was very lively, the response was very good, the participants from the fields of business, accounting, finance, and several other related business disciplines were very focused. I am very impressed with the response and attention given to my presentation today on research methods,” he said. He further emphasized that a strong understanding of research methodology is key. “This is important for us in the future to ensure that in our careers, our development leads us to eventually become professors. And that is a position that I think is very good, which is what every lecturer should strive for,” said Prof. Rozainun.
Furthermore, Prof. Rozainun highlighted the importance of systematic investigation in research. “When I shared (the material) earlier, it was about how we can create and write scientific papers for publication so that the work comes from a quality source, namely with research methods that use systematic investigation. And this is necessary to ensure that we have a definite process to follow, so that the results and the process are also of high quality,” he added. He is also optimistic about the publication potential of Widyatama lecturers. “There will be more publications from Universitas Widyatama lecturers. And I am sure, because there are many lecturers and students, there will definitely be collaboration between lecturers and students. This collaboration is to obtain, produce, and generate publications of comparable quality, both nationally and internationally (abroad), and all of this will definitely be achieved, God willing,” she concluded.

Target of Improving Research Quality and International Relations
Universitas Widyatama has high hopes for the visiting lecturer activity of Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD at Widyatama University. Dr. H. Nuryaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business, stated, “This is a visiting lecture event and we invited him from KL University. We hope that this meeting will encourage lecturers to conduct research and produce better work.” In line with the Dean, the Head of the Accounting Undergraduate Program, Dr. Syafrizal Ikram, SE, M.Si, Ak, CA, explained in more detail about the objectives and goals of the event. “This event is part of updating the competencies of lecturers in the faculties of economics, business, accounting, management, and international trade to share research issues related to behavior and accounting,” he explained.
Dr. Syafrizal also added that the number of participants was deliberately limited to maintain the quality of interaction. “From the accounting, management, and international trade departments, we limited it to only 50 participants, and from the postgraduate program,” he said. More than just improving individual competencies, Universitas Widyatama is targeting concrete results in the form of research collaboration. “The output we want is joint research with Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz between Universitas Widyatama lecturers, especially in the faculty of economics and business, and KL University,” said Dr. Syafrizal hopefully. Thus, this activity is not only a means of knowledge transfer, but also opens the door to international-scale research collaboration that will enhance Universitas Widyatama’s reputation on the global stage. The presence of visiting lecturer Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz, PMK, CA (M), FCMA, CGMA, FCPA (Aust.), ISACA, ICDM, MACD at Universitas Widyatama is expected to spark new enthusiasm in the world of research on campus.
