Bandung (July 19), Widyatama University (UTama) held its 2016 Media Gathering at Café Humming Bird, Jl. Progo No. 20, Bandung. This event, which had been on hiatus for several years, invited media outlets (both marketing and press) that have long collaborated with UTama. The purpose and objective of organizing this event was in line with the festive atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr. It was a good opportunity for UTama to invite the media to gather, sit down, and redefine the synergy between the two institutions, both new and long-standing.
UTama welcomed more than 20 guests, including representatives from print, electronic, and online media. The event was opened by University Secretary Uning Kuraesi, M.Hum, followed by a brief presentation on Widyatama. The event proceeded with dignity. In his speech, Uning explained the University’s Values and the activities that are being prepared in line with the current Rector’s visionary policies. In addition, he also explained the synergy that can be formed by UTama with the media regarding publicity and the existence of institutions in Indonesia in particular.
With the involvement of the media, the institution can play a maximum role in line with the quality it offers, activities will run smoothly, and there will be sustainability within the institution. The positive news they publish is very helpful in making UTama more trusted and believed by stakeholders, by paying attention to the weight of news that is not fabricated and seeing the real capabilities of an institution as they are.
The plans and activities held at the humming bird café in Bandung will be carried out annually at different venues, so there will always be coordination between educational institutions, particularly UTama, and the media, which always reports on booming educational phenomena. The sharing presented by them can make the UTama campus a campus that always prioritizes continuous improvement. With continuous improvement, not only can we implement the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), but also fulfill quality and superior output in global competition, which is the benchmark in implementing education.
