The Placement Office (PO) of Widyatama University will host an event titled “2008 Major Job Fair (PBKU 2008)” on March 11-12, 2008. This annual event is scheduled to take place at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building. Various job opportunities will be offered at this PKBU, from various companies ranging from the banking, manufacturing, retail, and insurance sectors. More than 20 companies participated in last year’s job fair, and this year’s organizers are aiming to attract even more. Tatat Setiawati, head of the Placement Office sub-division and project lead for the event, stated that this activity is part of the Widyatama University Placement Office’s services to bridge the gap between graduates and industry as users. It is hoped that this activity can absorb potential workers and reduce the number of workers, which is currently increasing from year to year. PBKU 2008 is open to the public and visitors are not charged an entrance fee (free). This event also holds seminars on tips for facing the world of work and getting a job from career-up, as well as a TOEFL test that can be taken for free.
