Increasingly fierce competition in the job market has prompted workers and job seekers to equip themselves with various skills, including expertise in information technology. Widyatama University aims to address this need by incorporating the System Application and Product (SAP) into its lecture curriculum. SAP is a world-leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software currently being implemented by companies in Asia. The system was introduced in Germany in 1972.
In Indonesia, more than 200 multinational companies are currently using SAP. This is what Widyatama University is now implementing in order to improve the quality and competence of its graduates. With SAP certification, Widyatama University graduates will be segmented into specific areas of expertise.
Widyatama University SAP Coordinator Edi Sudiarto said that SAP is a system that certifies students, especially Widyatama University graduates, so that they are able to compete in the world of work. “This is one of the services we provide to students. With SAP, we want to improve the competence of Widyatama graduates so that they are able to compete with graduates from other universities,” said Edi. Meanwhile, SAP Manager Director Hanry Kumala said that SAP is very flexible and has become a necessity for multinational companies.
