Widyatama Participation in Widya Tele Wicara

In an effort to internationalize higher education, Widyatama University participated in a tele-conference organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education in collaboration with the Indonesian International Education Foundation (IIEF) and the Netherlands Education Support Office (NESSO) via video teleconference on Thursday (16/4) in the meeting room on the 1st floor of the Widyatama University Rectorate Building. Featuring Hanneke Teekens (Member of the Nuffic Board of Directors) as the speaker, this meeting was a dialogue and discussion attended by higher education institutions in Indonesia that are currently developing or will develop internationalization on their respective campuses. Participants from various higher education institutions in Indonesia shared the problems and opportunities they face in developing international programs.

Teekens stated that communication is the main issue hindering the development of these programs. She added that internationalization will provide many benefits for the universities concerned in opening up opportunities for cooperation with other institutions abroad. During the teleconference, Widyatama University, represented by the Coordinator of the International Office, Dr. Petrina Faustine, revealed that Widyatama University is currently collaborating with TROY University Alabama and the Putra Institute Malaysia in organizing an International Program.

Education is held at Utama for the first and second years (semesters 1 to 4), then continues at TROY University (Alabama, USA) or the Putra Institute campus (Malacca, Malaysia). Students will receive a Bachelor’s degree from TROY University or a dual degree with Utama. The benefits of joining this program include: obtaining two bachelor’s degrees (Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) from renowned universities, saving on education costs and time, direct enrollment as a student at TROY University or Institute Putra, gaining international experience, having greater career opportunities to work in international companies or business organizations, the opportunity to continue to an MBA at TROY University, and the opportunity to receive scholarships abroad. In addition, students can also establish networking connections without distance limitations.
