Nowadays, many scientists find themselves alienated from divine values after spending their entire lives pursuing the knowledge they have developed. The essence of science developed using a positivist-empiricist approach is accused of causing these scientists to become alienated from God, leaving no room for spiritual matters, let alone belief in the supernatural.
This is an excerpt from the book presented by Ismail Solihin, author of “Theology Science” at a book discussion held by the Spiritual Activity Unit, Muslim Student Family (Kami) Widyatama, Friday (11/9). The event, held in the theater room, was a manifestation of KAMI’s vision as a spiritual unit that plays a role in fostering good character and preventing the decline of faith among the community, especially students on campus.
In his presentation, Ismail, who is one of the lecturers at Widyatama, added that Science Theology is a pioneering science that attempts to combine human understanding of the physical world and the unseen world with the aim of improving the quality of human life. The event, which ended with a shared meal, concluded with the conclusion that religion is the foundation for the development of science.
