3rd Widyatama Pop-Up Market Improves the Quality of Entrepreneurship among Widyatama Students

BANDUNG – The Student Affairs Office of Universitas Widyatama successfully held the 3rd Widyatama Pop-Up Market, which took place at Union Square, Cihampelas Walk, on Saturday, January 31st, 2026. This annual event serves as an attractive public space to showcase a variety of creative products and as a forum for selecting the entrepreneurial works of Widyatama students. As one of the best private universities in West Java, the campus continues to encourage the emergence of competent and competitive young entrepreneurs. Therefore, the selection of a well-known shopping center in the heart of the city as the exhibition location was purely aimed at reaching a much wider audience.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., visitors who crowded the pedestrian area were immediately treated to dozens of exhibition booths offering attractive business innovations. A total of 31 booth tenants enlivened this entrepreneurial activity. Fifteen booths featured products created directly by Universitas Widyatama students, while the rest were filled by external businesses, sponsors, and campus business units. Participants showcased various categories of contemporary businesses, ranging from food and beverages, agriculture, creative industries, and various others. Additionally, visitors could also find unique products created by students, such as classic Vespa motorcycle accessories and vehicle restoration services.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed music and captivating performances from the UTama Band Club, Winner Kabaret, UTama Vocal Group, and UTama Choir. Not only that, the Japan Community and the UTama Dance Crew also added their own color through energetic performances that drew admiration. This special entertainment successfully attracted the attention of thousands of people who were spending their free time with their families to have fun together.

The implementation of this business exhibition, which involved cross-unit collaboration, had a very strategic academic purpose for this institution committed to high-quality education. This activity served as a selection stage for the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program proposals initiated by the relevant ministry. Strong synergy was evident in the university’s full support for student initiatives at the activity unit level, as well as the active role of the Student Affairs Bureau, which has always been the main facility for Widyatama students to continue to develop and explore their entrepreneurial potential.

He observed firsthand how the creative products of the nation’s youth can now be enjoyed by a wider audience who pass through the area. “We tried to move to a place that felt more spacious and open to reach more people, with the hope that we could reach at least 2,000 visitors to introduce the students’ work to them,” he said optimistically.

Ultimately, this student creative market event is not just a regular weekend buying and selling event. This entrepreneurial activity by Widyatama students serves as a solid bridge between the academic world of the campus and the real pulse of the community’s economy. Through massive public exposure, the academic community gains valuable experience in facing the dynamics of the real market. The broader community is also invited to continue following, appreciating, and supporting the brilliant innovations that will emerge from the creative hands of students in the future.
