It has become a separate agenda for Widyatama University (UTama) to hold seminars, both on a national and international scale. As a renowned private university, UTama has made these seminars a regular annual event. In 2011, Widyatama University (host) held an International Seminar on Business and Management with the theme “Improving Business Competitiveness Through Integrated Systems.”
The Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Mr. Freddy Numberi, acted as the keynote speaker. During the first day’s Plenary Sessions, Mr. Roman G. Baltazar (Philippine Embassy) was the first speaker, followed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim Halim (Coordinator of Kopertis Region IV) as the second speaker and Mr. Nawin Manbodh, M.B.A (Dutch Embassy) as the third speaker, with Dean Wilfreda Dimaano as the moderator. On this occasion, Mr. Freddy Numberi, then Minister of Transportation, donated a bus to the Widyatama University campus.
The International Seminar was held for two days, April 27-28, 2011, at the Widyatama University campus in the Cikutra area of Bandung.
On the second day of the Plenary Sessions, Prof. Jozua Sabandar, M.A., PhD acted as moderator with the first speaker being Prof. Dr. Mansor Fadzil (Open University Malaysia), the second speaker being Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad (Rector of Geomatica College, Malaysia) and the third speaker being Prof. Dr. Maman Kusman (Vice Rector of Widyatama University). The seminar was attended by 135 participants from various public and private universities in Indonesia and several other countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Bangladesh, India, and Iran.
Last February, Widyatama University held an international seminar on the island of Bali.
