The event, which carried the theme “The Spirit of Togetherness in the Process of Improving Education Quality,” was held over two days (December 4-5, 2015). Held in the seminar room on the 6th floor of Building B of Widyatama University, the event was attended by invited guests, namely high-ranking officials from the Foundation and the University. Invited guests included the Foundation’s Supervisory Board, the Foundation’s Management Board, the Rectorate, Faculties, Study Programs (including their representatives), Heads of Bureaus, Heads of Centers, etc.

The purpose of the Education Meeting was to reveal issues and problems in the academic process and implementation, evaluate/review, and find solutions to improve the quality of education and resolve academic problems. With the aim of improving the university’s performance, this education meeting raised personal awareness of the need to improve work quality and shape individuals to become visionaries in line with the university’s foundation.

The meeting proceeded smoothly and wisely, filled with presentations on work programs and analyses of obstacles in each academic and administrative unit within Widyatama. Several points were noted in the education meeting to be held before the even semester of the 2015/2016 academic year, which must be implemented routinely as stated in the ten points of academic quality standards. These points include the curriculum, human resources, and the implementation of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education). This moment also served as a forum for finding solutions regarding academic activities with a common voice among all the resources involved.

The Chairman of the Foundation hopes that the education meeting will be a place to find solutions regarding academic activities with a common understanding. The results of the meeting will be used as a basis for all work units at Widyatama University, including faculties and study programs, in carrying out their main tasks and functions (tupoksi) in accordance with the noble ideals outlined in the document on the management of Widyatama University. The existence of these educational meetings indicates that Widyatama University is very concerned with discussing the quality of education so that it can produce useful individuals who can compete in the global world.
