Pre-Event SASHIMI “UCHU” Full of Excitement

On Saturday (January 30), the Widyatama University Japan Community held a SASHIMI Pre-Event at the Widyatama University (UTama) Food Court. The event began at 9:00 a.m. with a band competition to select the best band for the grand finale to be held in March. The excitement was evident from the large number of band and vocal group participants who joined the competition. The name SASHIMI is no stranger to the community in Bandung and beyond; this annual event has become a “homebase” for the large Japanese community in Indonesia, who are sure to attend.

The Japanese Language Program at UTama has taken note of SASHIMI’s track record of success each year. Therefore, Ms. Etty, as the Japanese Language Program Coordinator at UTama, has appointed one of the lecturers to serve as a mentor for the community, which has been established at UTama for nearly three years. In addition to the excitement of SASHIMI, the Japanese Language Program also hosts the Japan Hamamatsu Festival, which involves students and prospective students in competitions and other entertainment activities.
